Insurance payout + end-of-winter sales = goodness

Ok, so I haven’t bought a digital camera yet.  I have, however, taken advantage of the sales on all over the place and bought some winter clothing so that I’ve got a nice warm yet light little wardrobe that all works together.  I was planning to buy a down jacket and a merino top but it kind of grew into more!  I want to wear it all now, but am making myself wait…

I can’t show you photos, because I don’t have a camera :p

I still don’t know what to do about “nice” clothes if I have to go anywhere special, would be easy if it was summer but not so great when it’s cold.  I think that outdoorsy icebreaker and Macpac gear won’t quite be appropriate for every situation!  Any suggestions?

lol re: not being able to take photos cos you got no camera 😛

I’m thinking layers? But I’m not so good at layering, so I don’t know if I can help there! Merino singlets would be a good idea for under nice tops.

Yeah, layers are good. I got a couple of mid-weight icebreaker merino tops and a couple of silk tops to wear under them, theoretically I should just have to wash the silk tops and they’ll dry overnight. Will also take a sleeveless merino singlet and maybe a long-sleeved one too. I’m thinking now that I might just wait until I get over there to buy some nice clothes, and can dress things up with a fancy scarf. If I plan to buy a couple of items of clothing then I won’t feel bad spending money when I see something I love 🙂
A lot of the places we’re going will have a high of about 12 deg and overnight low of about 3 deg – not warm!
