I got home from uni yesterday to find this wooden box on the front doorstep:
What can it be?
Dad said he was sending me something but the end of his text was chopped off and I couldn’t think of anything this big that I had been wanting. It took me about 10 minutes to get into it, and when I did… what a lovely surprise!

Yay! I have been really missing playing in the brass band, but I didn’t want to join one here because it takes quite a reasonable time commitment, so this is fabulous 😀 Now I can potter around on it and if I’m busy with exams/assignments can just put it aside for a couple of weeks until I have more time. I’ll have to find my music stand and sheet music next time I’m in Chch, but the library here has music too. I’ll still miss playing in a group, but I can always join in the carols with Stedfast Brass at Christmas again!

Nup, because I had just starting doing a blues harmonica course when it arrived! Also my music stand and all my music is still in Chch, will get them during the holidays. Am planning to check out the library here though, as they have some sheet music and might have something suitable.
