University of Otago

Here’s some photies

This is one of the main buildings in the old part of the university, across the river from the science block where I've been going for summer school.

More cool old buildings, I don't think I'll be having any classes in this part of the campus though.

One of the nasty-looking creatures above the archway into the quadrangle, Mike said they're famous but he couldn't remember why.

Those buildings are gorgeous, they have so much more character than the Massey campus!

I spent AGES working out my timetable today, what a mission. Had to book my labs and lectures for each of the four papers, making sure none clashed with each other. Thankfully I was one of the geeks who was keeping an eye on the opening of the enrolments online, so was one of the first dozen or so people to book them (it’s on a first come first served basis).

Now that’s done I can focus more on revising!

Wow, I think we pretty much get told ours, we have course approval this Friday where we have to get signatures from head of department or advisor of studies for each dept and then go submit it and get our ID, then after that is sorted we can access our individualised timetable on their website. Three of my papers in first semester are the same as health-sci which means there’s about 2000 ppl doing them, so we get split into a few groups.

Yes the buildings are gorgeous but there is no carpark because it’s in the middle of town, and it’s Dunedin so it’s cold/cloudy/windy a lot of the time. Even Mike asked when I’d taken the photos because apparently the day (with the sun) looks unusually good!
